Withdrawing funds from your account

Send a request to kslpayments@co-opbank.co.ke specifying your name, ID number, CDS number and the amount you would like to withdraw. Alternatively, you can fill out a payment request form at any co-op bank branch.

Once you have opened a CDS account, you will be able to purchase shares as follows:

  • Fund your account
  • Place an order at any co-op bank, our offices, or trade online.
  • Confirmation of your trade(s) will be done via an SMS or email at the end of the day.

To sell shares held in you CDS account

  • Place an order at any co-op bank, our offices, or trade online.
  • Confirmation of your trade(s) will be done via an SMS or email at the end of the day
  • Payment to you following the sale of your shares will be done after settlement of the trade (T+3) EFT your bank account as provided by you on the account mandates
Process of trade
  • Once you have opened a CDS account with Kingdom Securities Limited you will be able to register here: https://trading.kingdomsecurities.co.ke/tradeweb/ and begin trading through our online shares trading platform.
  • You will receive a one-time password through your registered email after successful registration

 

Process of Depositing

In order to deposit your shares into a CDS account, you need to first immobilize your share certificates. The following are needed to facilitate this process:

  1. Open a CDS account if you don’t have one already
  2. Duly completed and signed CDS 2 form
  3. Original certificates to be immobilized
  4. Immobilization fee, payable to KSL
how to trade shares

Buying shares through KSL

Once you have opened a CDS account, you will be able to purchase shares as follows:

  • Deposit the amount that is to be used to buy the shares into the following account at Co-op Bank: Kingdom Securities, Account Number: 01136186729201, SWIFT Code: KCOOKENA or deposit the amount into an account to be provided by your Sacco
  • Give us instructions through any Co-operative Bank Branch or your Sacco and let us know which shares to purchase
  • Confirmation of your trade(s) will be done via an SMS to be sent at the end of the trading day to the phone number you provided to us. You can also make enquiries by calling 020-2776000 or 0703027000 or email info@kingdomsecurities.co.ke

Selling shares through KSL

  • Give us instructions on which shares to sell via any Co-operative Bank Branch or your Sacco
  • Confirmation of your trade(s) will be done via an SMS to be sent at the end of the trading day to the phone number you provided to us. You can also make enquiries by calling 020-2776000 or 0703027000 or email info@kingdomsecurities.co.ke
  • Payment to you following the sale of your shares will be done by EFT into your bank account as provided to us
Funds transfer

Need to transfer funds to your CDS account? Do it conveniently through any of these options:

  1. Any Co-operative Bank Branch: Visit your nearest branch, provide your KSL account number and your details (name, ID/passport number and your CDS account number) to the teller and proceed with the funds transfer.
  2. Any Co-op Kwa Jirani Agent: Visit your nearest Co-op Bank agent), provide your KSL account number and your details (name, ID/passport number and your CDS account number) to the agent then proceed with the funds transfer.
  3. Through M-Pesa: Go to your M-Pesa menu, access Paybill then enter Business Number 400222, account number 11170, your CDS account number, the amount you would like to transfer then lastly enter your M-Pesa PIN. Check for an updated balance in your account in 15 to 30 minutes.
  4. Through MCo-op Cash: Dial *667# to access MCo-op Cash, select 98. More then 12. Other payments, 4. Other fees, then enter the Business Number, Account No. 11170, choose the account to transact from (MCo-op Cash/Bank Account or Credit Card) and enter the reference number as your CDS account number. Once that is done, indicate the amount you would like to transfer and confirm the transaction.
  5. Our KSL Account: For registered Co-op Internet Banking users, transfer the cash to our KSL account and send us the receipt generated via email infokingdom@co-opbank.co.ke or info@kingdomsecurities.co.ke  along with your details (name, ID/passport number and/or your CDS account number).
  6. For clients holding accounts with other banks, you can do a funds transfer from your internet banking or bank branches to the KSL account provided above. You will also need the following:
    • Bank code: 11000
    • Branch code: 11002
    • Swift Code: KCOOKENA

Please note: If you would like to withdraw funds, kindly send a request to kslpayments@co-opbank.co.ke specifying your name, ID number, CDS number and the amount you would like to withdraw. Alternatively, you can fill out a payment request form at any branch.

How to open a CDS account

The following are account opening requirement s per client category:

  1. Personal individual and joint accounts
    • Duly filled & signed CDS account opening form (CDS1) & KSL account opening addendum
    • Certified copy of valid ID/ passport (Personal Detail/ Bio data page and Renewal page i.e. last three pages) for each account signatory
    • One recent coloured Passport size photograph/digital passport photo of each account signatory
    • Certified copy of bank statement/ cheque leaf /bank card (front side only)
    • KRA PIN Certificate for each signatory
  2. Kenyan living in the Diaspora
    • Duly filled & signed CDS account opening form (CDS1) & KSL account opening addendum
    • Certified copy of a valid Kenyan ID/Kenyan passport (Personal Detail/ Bio data and Renewal pages
    • One recent coloured Passport size photograph/digital passport photo of each account signatory
    • Certified copy of bank statement/ cheque leaf /bank card (front side only)
    • KRA PIN Certificate
    • Client is introduced through the Co-op Bank diaspora banking department who verify KYC documents. They can be contacted through diasporabanking@co-opbank.co.ke
  3. Foreign Persons living in Kenya
    • Duly filled & signed CDS account opening form (CDS1) & KSL account opening addendum
    • Copy of a valid passport
    • One recent coloured Passport size photograph
    • KRA PIN Certificate
    • Introduction Letter from the embassy (where the embassy is available in Kenya)
    • Copy of entry/work permit
    • Certified copy of bank statement/ cheque leaf /bank card (front side only)
    • All documents and attachments should be notarized/ locally certified by a notary public/embassy.
  4. Self-help groups
    • Duly filled & signed CDS1 form bearing details of organization, and duly filled & signed KSL addendum
    • One recent coloured Passport size photograph of each Signatory
    • Certified copies of a valid Kenyan ID/Kenyan passport (Personal Detail/ Bio data page and Renewal page of each signatory
    • Introduction letter from relevant registration authority (Ministry/ county social development office) indicating name and ID numbers of signatories
    • A list of members of the group with ID numbers duly signed by members and stamped by the relevant registration office.
    • Copy of Group constitution, certified by the relevant registration office
    • Copy of registration certificate, certified by the relevant registration office
    • Minutes to resolving opening of a CDS account with Kingdom Securities Ltd
    • Certified copy of bank statement/ cheque leaf /bank card (front side only)
    • All documents must bear the stamp/seal of the group
  5. Business accounts, Clubs, Society, Association, Mission, NGO, Trade Union
    • Duly filled & signed CDS1 form bearing details of organization and duly filled & signed KSL addendum
    • One recent coloured Passport size photograph of each Signatory
    • Certified copies of a valid Kenyan ID/Kenyan passport (Personal Detail/ Bio data page and Renewal page of each signatory
    • Certified copy of registration certificate/ Certificate of Incorporation /certificates of approved enterprise for foreign limited liabilities
    • KRA PIN Certificate for the institution and for each official/ signatory/ director
    • Copy of CR 12 or Memorandum and Article of Association/ Entity’s constitution
    • A directors Resolution to open the CDS account with Kingdom Securities Limited on company letter head, specifying the signing mandates/instructions with which the account will be operated and naming the signatories to the account
      OR
      Minutes indicating resolve by group to open a CDS ac with Kingdom Securities Ltd, introducing the signatories and signing instructions.
    • Where the signatories are not the directors/officials of the entity, the resolution or letter from the directors/officials should introduce desired signatories to operate the account on behalf of the entity
    • Certified copy of bank statement/ cheque leaf /bank card (front side only)
    • Introduction letter from relevant authority e.g. Ministry of Education, Social Services, Church HQ, Central Organization of Trade Unions, and NGO Registration Board.
    •  All documents must bear the seal/stamp of the institution
    • Search fee of Ksh. 500 deposited to ac 01240000020568 -COMPANY SECRETARY to facilitate verification of ownership for limited companies and registered businesses
